So from what I can understand is that people are angry because they lost the chance to sell their minipet early for hundreds of ectos because ZoS beat them to the punch right?

If that's true, I see absolutely no reason for the official Guild Wars site to see the mini pets would be released Monday. I also think the members of ZoS who have the mini pets would have screenied their /age and posted the screenie, which would have ended the whole problem.

No, people are angry because regular players in ZoS are getting in game perks because they're in the same guild as devs.

It's also nice to mention that WhiteWasabi is currently active viewing this thread. Nonetheless, if ANet did very well in fact give out minis earlier than mentioned purposely on favoritism or whatever... they lost my trust in them.

The yearly character creation award isn't exactly fair and balanced anyway. The boss only rewards people who've been with the company longest - and not all them, mind. He forgets about you if you change your hair-style.

This is really a difference of personal opinion. In all reality Anet should keep this sort of thing -the company, dev's, those close to the company- and the regular player base completely and totally separate (who needs a CR when you've got devs and those close to the company prancing about?). Because when you dont, shit gets hairy. So I compare this to the tournament issue, in a sense of business and technicality, its wrong, but in a sense of morals I dont believe it is.

Im not in anyway, however, condoning the selling of the mini's (it scares me that anyone would be stupid enough to buy for that much). Since wasabi bought it back, im assuming Anet told him/trusted him not to sell it, or that Anet simply didnt warn him about selling it. If the later is the cause then it was simply put an extremely reckless and stupid move by Anet.

Not to mention how arbitrary selecting a 'most dedicated player' would be. I seriously doubt ANet admins, or anyone really, is in a position to judge that.

That, however, is not the issue. The issue is how ridiculous releasing what amounts to free gold (and while pets technically have no value, I don't believe for a second ANet doesn't know they usually are just sold) to a player for no reason.

So WW bought it back? What an idiot; him selling it was only part of the problem, it was the fact that he actually got the item before other players that made it unfair.

I doubt it.

His intentions were pretty clearly motivated by greed. If what was said earlier is true, and he scrambled to buy it back, I'd reckon he's being motivated by fear now.

It's going to be hard for him to get away from the stigma of this. Who's going to look at him and think he earned anything legitimately now? Bad choices all around by Anet employees, and their friends.

The whole thing so far is a lot of suspicion, doubts, and unconfirmed claims. I think theres only one real problem: Anet hasn't addressed the issue yet. Which, just fuels the suspicion and doubts (rightfully so).
